Auer, Arthur A. and Hazel S. Scholarship Fund

Hazel S. Auer, of Kendallville, was born August 2, 1893 to William R. and Sarah Strait. She was married in 1918 to Arthur A. Auer, who preceded her in death in 1967. They were founders and owners of Kendallville Brush and Broom Co. She continued the business after her husband’s death.  She had been a resident of Kendallville since 1911 and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.  The Arthur A. and Hazel S. Scholarship Fund was established in 1998 by the estate of Hazel S. Auer for scholarships for East Noble High School students of Kendallville, Indiana.
