Funding may be used for projects such as maintaining the Fishing Line Trail, including amenities like benches, water fountains, and other enhancements, but limited to the portion that runs through the Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site. Transportation costs associated with school field trips to the site are also eligible. Restoration efforts in the formal gardens, Hilltop Drive roadside beautification projects adjacent to the site, and restoration projects for the Sower Farmhouse are among the preferred categories.
This grant is available to organizations such as the Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site through the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites Corporation or its successor organization. Other eligible organizations include the Town of Rome City, Advance Rome City, Noble Trails, Sylvan Lake Improvement Association, Noble County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Noble County Historical Society. Proposals are not limited to these organizations, allowing for flexibility to address broader community needs.
