February 23, 2010 … Brandon had recently turned eighteen. It was the home stretch of his senior year at West Noble High School. Brandon was full of life, and his life was full of so many memories, experiences, and activities. As a young child, he dabbled in many things … wrestling, baseball, soccer, swimming, basketball, and cross country. It wasn’t until his high school years that his true loves and talents revealed themselves.
Brandon became a techie for Theater 33 early on, which quickly became one of his favorite things about high school. He was in Honors Theater and also showed his talents on stage with performances for the community theater and “Endangered,” promoting AIDS awareness. Along with drama, Brandon was active in PRIDE, SADD, the speech team, Art Club, National Honors Society, and his youth group at Ligonier Evangelical Church. He had a gift for art and had recently been accepted directly into the art department at Ball State University during his invited attendance at an early portfolio viewing in the fall. His plan was to study Art Therapy or Visual Art Communication. Brandon enjoyed hanging out with friends, reading, movies, plays, musicals, and music (especially show tunes.)
Brandon was a hard worker … holding a part-time job during the school year and adding another part time job in the summer, along with mowing many lawns. He was well-traveled… he had visited many parts of the United States, as well as the countries of Canada, Mexico, Bolivia, and Argentina; the latter two being missions trips, for which he was so passionate.
February 23, 2010 … Brandon’s greatest love was Jesus, and he lived it out loud. While traveling to school, the Lord called Brandon home. May his memory and inspiration live on and be the tool God means for it to be.
The criteria for the Brandon A. Replogle “Celebrate the Arts” Memorial Scholarship were chosen to honor and celebrate many aspects of who Brandon was … his character, passions, talents, academic ability, dedication … and to recognize students who share the same. The first recipient of the scholarship in Brandon’s honor was 2011 West Noble senior Elisabeth Powell.
