Welcome Courtney!

Help us welcome Courtney!
Hello! My name is Courtney Roberts and I am excited to serve as the PULSE summer intern! It is great to return to the place that ignited my love for philanthropy. I am going into my junior year of college at Ball State University to become an English teacher. I currently study English Education and Creative Writing. During my time at Ball State, I’ve served as Vice President of Leadership for hall council, President of English Education Club, and I currently work as the Education Academic Peer Mentor during the school year. I love writing, coffee, and spending time outdoors! I’m very excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve my community in this capacity. I hope to return to Noble County as a teacher someday. I really feel that before you teach a community of kids, you really need to get to know the community and the community should know you. Although I’ve grown up here, I know our community is always changing. I am grateful for this opportunity and I feel that I am one step closer to achieving my teaching goals because of it!

Welcome Caroline!

Welcome Caroline Sizelove!
“A Kendallville native and lifelong citizen, I am delighted and honored to serve the Noble County Community in a new role as Program/Office Assistant for the Community Foundation of Noble County. Previously, I have held the positions as the Executive Director for the Kendallville Day Care Center, Director of Activities and Volunteers at Lutheran Life Villages, and Family Advocate for Brightpoint. Regardless of my role, I have stayed committed to my personal mission statement: To improve the lives of others. Working alongside the dedicated and compassionate Community Foundation staff, I anticipate strengthening my knowledge and awareness of additional programs and services Noble County offers. P.U.L.S.E. will be an opportunity to engage with students striving to make a positive impact. Their work and decision making process will transition into future experiences. I look forward to this new adventure of my professional development journey by supporting the efforts of the Community Foundation of Noble County,” said Caroline.

Community Foundation of Noble County receives $750,000 matching grant!

Community Foundation of Noble County receives $750,000 matching grant!

The Community Foundation of Noble County has received a matching fund grant totaling $750,000 as part of the eighth phase of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s initiative, Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT VIII).

Through GIFT VIII Lilly Endowment has awarded matching fund grants totaling $133.8 million to community foundations serving all 92 of Indiana’s counties. Eligible community foundations submitted proposals requesting grants ranging from $100,000 to $15 million based on the population of the counties they serve.

Qualifying matching funds raised to support the community foundation’s unrestricted endowment will be eligible for a $2(grantor)-to-$1(grantee) match from the Endowment while qualifying matching funds raised for community projects and programs or capacity-building activities will be eligible for a $1(grantor)-to-$1(grantee) match.

“As Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Noble County, I am deeply grateful for the transformative impact of philanthropy, especially with the generous match provided by Lilly Endowment Inc. This partnership exemplifies the profound difference we can make when we join forces to support our community’s greatest needs and aspirations. Together, we are not only multiplying the resources available but also multiplying the positive outcomes for Noble County and its residents,” Margarita White.

At the Community Foundation of Noble County, we are passionate about making Noble County an even better place to call home. Since 1991, area residents have been turning to the Community Foundation of Noble County to make their philanthropic giving as effective as possible, as we see it as our mission to serve as a catalyst for positive change. The Community Foundation of Noble County is a public charity 501 (c) 3 entity.

As a group of invested community members, we identify local current and emerging issues and stimulate resources to address those needs, helping our region prepare for the future. We then leverage gifts and bequests from generous donors like you to drive positive change through grants in such areas as arts and culture, education, health and human services, civic affairs, and other charitable areas of interest.

Lilly Endowment Inc. is an Indianapolis-based private foundation created in 1937 by J.K. Lilly, Sr. and his sons Eli and J.K. Jr. through gifts of stock in their pharmaceutical business, Eli Lilly and Company. Although the gifts of stock remain a financial bedrock of the Endowment, it is a separate entity from the company, with a distinct governing board, staff, and location. In keeping with the founders’ wishes, the Endowment supports the causes of community development, education, and religion. The Endowment funds significant programs throughout the United States, especially in the field of religion. However, it maintains a special commitment to its founders’ hometown, Indianapolis, and home state, Indiana.

2024 Program Assistant Job Description

Write A Will Informational Workshop

“Write A Will Informational” Workshop
Sponsored by the Community Foundation of Noble County.

“Will Do!” That is a common reply from folks asked to take care of something – “Yep- will do!” But when it comes to writing out a will, some folks never get the job done. Regardless of your personal wealth, everyone should have a will to ensure their assets are allocated according to their desires. The workshop is intended to promote awareness about the need to have a will.

Did you know? Without a will, the laws of the state determine how property is distributed; removing from consideration an individual’s priorities, commitments or how the person left behind might feel about the outcome.

This informational workshop is presented by Douglas J. Atz and Jacob D. Atz of Atz Law Office LLC.
