Thompson, Jennie Scholarship Endowment Fund

Awards $3,500 per year for up to four years to a West Noble High School senior who is pursuing a 2–4 year degree at a college or university or a certification program such as a trade school. Students must have between a 2.50 –3.50 GPA, with preference going to the student closest to a 3.00 GPA. Students must continue to maintain at least a 2.50 GPA in each year of college or trade school. (cfnc)

DONOR STORY

Jennie Thompson was born in August of 1888 in Noble County to a family with one brother. She was a lifelong resident of Noble County and one of Ligonier’s biggest benefactors. Through the use of this fund, she has supported several projects in the Ligonier area. She passed away in 1978 in a nursing home, but her legacy continues with the Jennie Thompson Foundation Fund and the projects she helped complete.
