Our scholarships are created by generous donors who believe in investing in Noble County students. Each fund reflects a donor’s heart, story, and commitment to helping local students reach their educational goals.

General Scholarship Applications are accepted between November 24, 2025 to January 15, 2026.

To release payment to your school, please complete the acceptance form that is sent to your email address in early June.

If you decide not to use a scholarship, you can mark the “decline” box on the scholarship acceptance form.

Yes, that is possible in most cases, however, please contact Jennifer@cfnoble.org or 260.894.3335 to discuss deferment.

Thank you card(s) can be sent to the Community Foundation of Noble County, Attention: name of your scholarship(s) to the address below. We will see that the donor/fund representative will receive the card and a copy is saved.

Terms of Acceptance by the Educational Institution – These funds are to be used for tuition, books and academic fees for the educational benefit of the student(s) unless otherwise stated. Due to the charitable nature of our scholarship awards, funds may NOT be used for housing costs. Funds not used by the student for educational purposes within this academic year noted above should be refunded to the Community Foundation of Noble County by the educational institution.

Qualified Education Expenses – For purposes of the tuition and fees deduction, qualified education expenses are tuition and certain related expenses required for enrollment or attendance at an eligible educational institution. The Internal Revenue Service provides information about scholarships on their website at: https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc421.html.

Eligible Educational Institution– An eligible educational institution is any college, university, vocational school, or other post-secondary educational institution eligible to participate in a student aid program administered by the U.S. Department of Education. It includes virtually all accredited public, nonprofit, and proprietary (privately owned profit-making) post-secondary institutions.

Expenses That Don’t Qualify:
Qualified education expenses don’t include amounts paid for:

• Insurance;
• Medical expenses (including student health fees);
• Room and board;
• Transportation; or
• Similar personal, living, or family expenses.

This is true even if the amount must be paid to the institution as a condition of enrollment or attendance.
