To support the activities of the Ligonier Visitor and Convention Bureau, Inc.
Donor Fund Story:
The Ligonier Visitors Bureau Fund was set up at the Noble County Community Foundation because of a match opportunity from Lilly Endowment. The Ligonier Visitors Bureau is an educational part of the community and navigator for visitors of Ligonier. School groups from area schools come every year to learn about the history of Ligonier. Adults can also enjoy the history. In the future, the bureau would like to renovate their 1920’s old filling station building and make it look like a gallery.
Betty Petterson has helped at the bureau since its opening in 1995 as the hospitality manager. When the bureau had its first bus tour, Betty made the history of Ligonier into a real story and got to share it with lots of people as a tour guide. She graduated from Ligonier High School, attended International Business College, and was secretary to the president of the American State Bank. She has three children and nine grandchildren. She now spends her winters in Arizona with her husband. Betty appreciates Noble County because it’s diversified and has a lot to offer.
