2026 GIFT IX Education Request for Proposals

The Community Foundation of Noble County received a Community Support Grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. through its Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT IX) initiative. A portion of this funding has been designated to support educational initiatives that create meaningful and lasting benefits for Noble County residents.

Funding Available

Applicants may request up to $100,000.

Funding may be awarded to one organization or divided among multiple applicants based on community impact, collaboration, alignment, and organizational readiness. Multi-year proposals are permitted; however, the total request across all years may not exceed $100,000.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants include:

  • 501(c)(3) charitable organizations
  • Schools
  • Governmental entities
  • Organizations working with an eligible fiscal sponsor

Applicants must primarily serve Noble County residents and be in good standing with the Community Foundation of Noble County.

What Can Be Funded?

Grant funds may support:

  • Educational programs and operations
  • Community-driven educational initiatives
  • Stakeholder engagement and outreach
  • Equipment and technology
  • Nonprofit resources
  • Organizational capacity building
  • Collaborations among nonprofits, schools, and community organizations

Grant funds may not be used for debt repayment, expenses incurred before the approved grant start date, activities without a clear benefit to Noble County residents, or requests that primarily benefit an individual rather than a charitable program or community initiative.

What We Are Looking For

Strong proposals should clearly identify an educational need or opportunity in Noble County and demonstrate how the proposed work will address that need.

Applications should include measurable outcomes, a clear implementation timeline, a detailed budget, and, for multi-year requests, a year-by-year breakdown of activities and expenses.

Applicants will also be asked to describe community and stakeholder involvement, organizational readiness, partnerships, evaluation methods, and how the work or its benefits will be sustained after the grant period.

Before You Apply

Organizations are strongly encouraged to contact Community Foundation staff before applying to discuss eligibility and alignment with the Education RFP.

Applications open September 1, 2026.
