To provide a scholarship for East Noble High School seniors or graduates pursuing a two-year or four-year degree in the fields of consumer and family sciences, agriculture or finance.
Donor Fund Story:
This fund was established in 2004 by Delbert and LaVon Graft. The Graft’s are longtime residents of Noble County, Indiana. Delbert passed away in 2012 and LaVon still resides in Avilla. Delbert Charles Graft was born in Poe, Indiana on June 27, 1922, to Herman and Pearl (Frank) Graft. He had a brother named Herman Graft, Jr. and two sisters, Mildred Christman and Erma Everetts. He was a lifetime farmer, real estate broker and auctioneer for over 40 years. He owned Graft Real Estate and Auctioneering. He was also the Swan Township Trustee for eight years and served on the East Noble School Board from 1968-1976. He was a faithful member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Avilla. Delbert loved spending time with his family, traveling, ocean cruising and fishing. Delbert graduated from Huntertown High School in 1941 and married LaVon Mae Weidman on July 4, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Delbert and LaVon had two children – Dennis (Alieta) Graft and Sandra (Dennis) Lamp.
