To provide support to the Kendallville Parks and Recreation Department.
Donor Fund Story:
Kendallville Park and Recreation Department Funds were established in April 2006. The purpose of the funds is to build a fund for future development and maintenance of the Park. The funds were created as a way for donors to give a monetary gift to the Park that will keep on giving well into the future. The idea is that eventually these funds will be used to improve the Park for all its users, thus allowing for the Park’s income to be diversified in the future.
The main founders of these funds were the Kendallville Park and Recreation Board. The goal of the funds was to build the funds up for long term stability for the Park and Recreation Department. The Park’s Board choose the Noble County Community Foundation, Inc. to establish the funds because of its ability to invest and maintain the funds in a professional environment. Jim Goodwin stated that the Park’s Board was glad to have chosen the Noble County Community Foundation, Inc. for their endowment. “They have made a great reputation and are trusted by donors.” The Kendallville Park and Recreation Board strives to do everything within its power to maintain and improve the parks for today and into the future.
A former board member of the foundation was Dr. Thomas Jansen. He has continued to be involved in the creation of funds and maintenance of all the Kendallville Parks. His dedication and commitment to the parks of Kendallville and the Noble County Community Foundation, Inc. has continued to allow many to leave their legacy through permanent gifts and contributions. Dr. Thomas Jansen continues to support recreation throughout Noble County.
