Donor Fund Story:
In August of 2015, the family and trustees of the Hoffman Trust created a new fund at the Community Foundation of Noble County leaving the legacy of Richard J. Hoffman.
Winston Churchill said it best: “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.” We have heard that Mr. Hoffman valued his community, friends, neighbors, and employees who passed through his doors as an individual of worth, and he dealt with them all that way.
Scott and John Hoffman had this to say about their Dad:
“Our dad worked hard every day to grow his business in order to make it a success. Our dad was a simple man, and enjoyed the simple things in life. He never flaunted his success around other people, and would always write a “thank you” card to people spending time with him”.
Rick was a charitable man throughout his life. He contributed to a wide spectrum of worthy causes including Arts, Culture, Childhood Development, Business Development and Community Organizations like the Lions Club for which he was a member for many years.
Mr. Hoffman treated everyone with dignity and respect and would embrace those who would do likewise. One of the Trustees, Ryan Stoneburner, states: I found Rick to be one of the most honorable gentlemen I ever met. He believed in people who took the initiative to better themselves and he would be supportive to them in many ways to help them achieve their goals.
Through the Community Foundation of Noble County, Rick’s support of people looking to better themselves can continue forever.
