Donor Fund Story:
This fund was established in 2008 by Kendallville, Indiana Mayor SuzAnne Handshoe and former Kendallville Mayor John Riemke. Both mayors wanted to reward students who are committed to the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) and have a passion for making their community a better place to live. Students from Noble County join to learn about local Government and have a voice in the decisions being made in the Kendallville area. Mayor Handshoe and Riemke want to engage youth as they are the leaders of tomorrow. This fund is a way to thank them for being involved in their community. The commitment of these young people is amazing and the drive to take on projects they find will make a lasting impact on the community is worthy of a financial gift to assist them with their future education plans.
